Architectural competition for of the future trilateral Wadden Sea World Heritage Partnership Center in Wilhelmshaven, Germany

The City of Wilhelmshaven as awarding authority is currently holding the architectural competition for the realisation of the future trilateral Wadden Sea World Heritage Partnership Center, comprising office space, visitor areas and conference rooms with a gross floor area of approximately 2900 m², and the urban design and integration of the surrounding open space. The upper cost limit for the building is set at EUR 6.09 million.

The deadline for expressions of interest to the EU-wide application procedure was 12 July 2017. A jury is currently reviewing the submitted plans.

The project is sponsored by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety in the framework of the “Nationale Projekte des Städtebaus” (national urban design projects) Programme.

The overall prize money of the competition amounts to EUR 50 000 excluding VAT.

The prize money will be distributed as follows:

  • 1st Prize: EUR 20 000
  • 2nd Prize: EUR 12 000
  • 3rd Prize: EUR 8 000
  • Acknowledgements: EUR 10 000
