Final PROWAD Link partner meeting convened on Sylt

For four years, 15 organisations from the Wadden Sea area, the Wash/ North Norfolk Coast, and Geiranger Fjord partnered up within the Interreg VB project "PROWAD Link" to work towards engaging local stakeholders in nature protection. The goal: creating a nature-business-benefit-cycle, in which stakeholders gains advantages through the nature area brand and give back to nature protection through their sustainable entrepreneurship. On 1 to 3 November 2022, the last partner meeting for the project, which will be concluded with the end of 2022, took place on the Wadden Sea Island of Sylt.

With most project deliverables done, the partner meeting was not only used to discuss ongoing tasks, but also future perspectives of co-operation. On Sylt, the partners also explored the local Wadden Sea visitor centre, were introduced to the works of the NGO “Schutzstation Wattenmeer”, and were presented the sustainability strategy of the island’s destination marketing organisation.

In the framework of the 14th Trilateral Governmental Conference on 28-30 November 2022 in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, the partners will present the project’s key results at an official concluding event.
