Explore the Wadden Sea World Heritage and its feathered diversity by bike
Wyk/ Föhr (D)
The island of Föhr lies at the heart of the UNESCO Wadden Sea World Heritage Site. Join national park ranger Leonie Dittmann on an ornithological cycle tour (approx. 23 km) along the dyke and through the Föhr marshes and observe the colourful bird life of the Wadden Sea through a field scope. What makes the Wadden Sea so special and valuable that it is on the same list as the Great Barrier Reef and the Grand Canyon? How does the cooperation with the Netherlands and Denmark work? And why should we continue to protect the Wadden Sea? You can expect answers to these questions on this cycle tour.
Please bring a bicycle, binoculars (if available) and a snack for the trip. The number of participants is limited to 15 people. Registration is required at: nationalpark@lkn.landsh.de (including name, address and mobile phone number).
If you are travelling by ferry, please indicate this on the registration form; we will wait for these participants if there is a slight delay. If the weather is very bad, the tour will be cancelled.
