The 15th International Scientific Wadden Sea Symposium, planned for Büsum, Schleswig-Holstein (D) on 30 Nov - 3 Dec 2021, will now be held online.

The 15th International Scientific Wadden Sea Symposium, which this year will be held in Büsum, Schleswig-Holstein (D) on 30 Nov - 3 Dec 2021, is now at full capacity in line with the local restrictions for events, with 180 participants. It is therefore no longer possible to book at place at the event.

As part of the collaboration with the Swiss watch maker Oris, and in celebration of World Clean Up Day, this weekend saw specially invited guests spend two days in the Dutch Wadden Sea in order to pick marine litter and learn more about local efforts to make the Wadden Sea more sustainable

As part of the collaboration on the beautiful, limited edition Dat Watt diving watch, Oris and the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat have arranged a series of unique annual events aimed at showing how we can bring change for the better and help to protect the Wadden Sea.

The excellent work, in support of education, carried out by the members of the International Wadden Sea School in the past 17 years was highlighted as part of this side event which was co-organised between Germany and South Korea.

The Prowad Link partner National Vadehavet (Danish Wadden Sea National Park) has developed a set of fact sheets in the project’s framework.

An interdisciplinary workhop with experts from the tourism sector and environmental education was held on communication the Wadden Sea's Outstanding Universal Value.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the ISWSS15 will now take place on 30 November to 3 December 2021.
